Remits

• Remits 1 and 2
  Remits 1 and 2, authorizing changes to the wording of The Manual, have been sent to all United Church presbyteries and require approval of a two-thirds majority by Nov. 12 to be implemented.
• Remit 3
  Remit 3, authorizing changes to the wording of the Basis of Union, has been sent to all presbyteries and requires approval by a two-thirds majority by June 15, 2010 to be implemented.
  • Remit 3 Passes
    Transfer and settlement will be optional for candidates for the Order of Ministry as a result of the passage of Remit 3.
• Remits 4, 5A, and 5B
  Remits 4 (Conference meetings), 5A (appointment of designated lay ministers), and 5B (presbytery membership of DLMs) have been sent to all presbyteries. The deadline for voting forms is Dec. 1, 2011.
• Remit 6: Declaration of Church Doctrine
  Remit 6: Declaration of Church Doctrine has been sent to all sessions (or their equivalents) and presbyteries. The deadline for voting forms is June 15, 2012.
